Pick up at 8 AM, we then drive to Huong Pagoda in Ha Tay Province, now is the new urban area of Hanoi. On arrival, we will take a sampan boat along the Yen River to Thien Tru pagoda then walk up to the mountain. The many pagodas that make up Chua Huong are spread out among the limestone hills and tropical forests in the area of Huong Mountain. The center of the Chua Huong complex, Huong Tich Cave houses Chua Trong (Inner Temple).
The mouth of the cave has the appearance of an open dragon’s mouth with Chinese characters carved in a wall at the mouth of the cave. The characters (Nam thien de nhat dong) are translated as “first grade cave of the South World” and the carving is dated to 1770. There is a large statue of Lord Buddha, as well as one of Quan Am, both made of a green stone inside the cave. Among the naturally occurring features of the cave are numerous stalactites and stalagmites, some of which are worn smooth from years of rubbing by visitors to the cave.
After visiting Huong Tich cave, we will hike down for lunch, or if you wish, we can try the cable car and enjoy the scenery of Huong Pagoda and its surrounding from the height. After lunch in the local restaurant in the foot of the mountain, we will get in our car and drive back to Hanoi. Trip ends.
