The first “Memory of Hanoi” event co-organized by the Department of Tourism (DoT) and the Centre for Thang Long – Ha Noi Heritage Conservation will be held from December 30, 2015 to January 4, 2016 in Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, Hanoi.
The event will bring back to life the images and culture of the ancient capital city with art installations recreating the space of the Old Quarter, old villages and houses in the city, alongside displays of traditional handicrafts and costumes.
Visitors and participants can gain a deeper inside into culture of Hanoians through ancient houses surrounded by fences, flowers and greenery. Ancient houses’ interior is for worshipping and tea drinking, a spiritual tradition and cultural pastime still valued by Hanoians today.
In addition, a market will showcase items dating back as far as one hundred years ago. And a number of music performances are also performed during the event.
