The list of 25 world`s most appealing destinations in 2016 voted by TripAdvisor users TripAdvisor has been recently unveiled by this booking and user review site. Accordingly, Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam ranked the 8th place in the list. Those who are planning to take Hanoi tours in particular and Vietnam vacation in general now have extra motivation to visit this beautiful S-shaped county.
TripAdvisor site described the thousand-year old Hanoi as a blend combination of the new and the old, tradition and modernity. In the description of TripAdvisor, the Vietnamese charming capital has long lasting history experiencing many eventful phase boasts the well-preserved Old Quarter, stunning monuments and significant colonial architecture, while making room for modern developments alongside.
“Hanoi may have shrugged off several former names, including Thang Long, or “ascending dragon,” but it hasn’t forgotten its past, as sites such as Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and Hoa Lo Prison attest,” it wrote.
“Lakes, parks, shady boulevards and more than 600 temples and pagodas add to the appeal of this city, which is easily explored by taxi.”
The result was obtained after a 12-month period, the result was based on the booking and user review site ranking the most searched cities that had more than one million reviews.
“The Travelers’ Choice Destination awards recognize the world’s most beloved travel spots, based on feedback and booking interest from the TripAdvisor community,” said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor.
The list of popular destinations acts as a catalyst for those who are planning a Vietnam vacation, now have more reason to take a trip to Vietnam in particular and other popular destinations in general.
The chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor also noted that hotels are bookable on TripAdvisor for an average of 200 USD per night from June through August.

In addition to Hanoi, Cambodia’s Siem Reap and Indonesia’s Ubud are two Southeast Asian cities in the top 10 destinations.
Besides London, the top 5 destinations of the world include Istanbul (Turkey), Marrakech (Morocco), Paris (France), Siem Reap (Cambodia).
The other cities also listed in the top 10 destinations are Prague (Czech Republic), Rome (Italy), Hanoi (Vietnam), New York (the US), and Ubud (Indonesia).
