B-52 Victory Museum
B-52 Victory Museum – Museum of the Armed Forces in Hanoi, was inaugurated on 22/12/1997 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of victory “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air” and is located at 157 Doi Can Street, Ba Dinh district. The museum specializes in researching, collecting, preserving and exhibiting material, photographs, and artifacts reflecting the process of building, fighting and maturing of the armed forces through different historical periods. And the culminating is the victory “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air” which smashed air strategy using B-52 planes of US in Hanoi. The museum was built in a modern architectural style, bearing the symbol of the glorious victory monument. The museum is one of the typical cultural and historical institutions of Hanoi. Hanoi Hilton
The relic Hoa Lo Prison also known as Hanoi Hilton is located in the center of Hanoi, belongs to the area of Hanoi 36 streets, at No. 1 Pho Duc Chinh. Hoa Lo Prison was built in 1896 by the French, for the purpose of confining people against colonialism. It is not only an evidence of the crimes committed by the French but also where patriotism and resilient spirit of Vietnamese people shined. Hoa Lo Prison is the most solidly in Indochina. Vietnam Military History Museum
Vietnam Military History Museum is one of six national museums and is the first museum in the system of military systems. It was founded on 17/7/1956, and located at 28A Dien Bien Phu Street, Ba Dinh district. The museum collects, stores and displays 150,000 artifacts, including many artifacts, collections of precious objects with historical, cultural, scientific values reflecting the resistance against the invasion, military policies and Vietnam military art from Hung Vuong era to Ho Chi Minh era. Vietnam Military History Museum is one of seven national museums with the largest number of artifacts and visitors today. Exploring here, tourists will be led in a way of following the history flow. First, customer can track and feel the maturity of the Vietnam People’s Army from the Red team defense of Xo Viet – Nghe Tinh movement, to the Bac Son Uprising, the war against France with the victory of Dien Bien Phu, and the battle against the United States with the Ho Chi Minh campaign in the spring of 1975. Vietnamese People’s Air Force Museum
Established on 22/10/1963, on 28/8/2007, the museum officially open for public. The museum is located on Truong Chinh street of Thanh Xuan district and has two exhibition areas including indoor and outdoor exhibition area and outdoor. The indoor exhibition area of the museum displays more than 3,000 artifacts, pictures which reflect truly and recreate the heroic history, the outstanding victories of the Air Force for over 50 years as well as in the current period. Outdoor exhibition space of the Museum introduces the collections of artifacts and unique weapons of Vietnam Air Force. As a work of history, culture, and science in Hanoi, Air Force museum not only contributes to the education of patriotic and revolutionary tradition for the soldiers of the air force but also is a cultural destination attracting tourists. Bac Son Martyr Monument
Bac Son Martyr Monument is a monument to the Heroes, martyrs who sacrificed for freedom and independence of the country, Vietnam on Bac Son Street, opposite the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, next to Thang Long Royal Citadel and Ba Dinh Square. This position is of political, cultural and historical significance, is one of the solemn, sacred place of the nation. The work was inaugurated on 7/5/1994 on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory. Bac Son martyr monument is a work with block shapes, reasonable contours, and size to celebrate ceremonies, but it is simple and close to everyday life. Moreover, according to the yin – yang concept of oriental philosophy, the monument is the harmony of the universe, of the past, present and future, and is a unseparated chain so that the soul of martyrs are warmed in the consciousness of the community. The monument is the spiritual connection between the soul lives with those who have died for the country.
